Adam Styka was a Polish Orientalist painter, son of the painter Jan and younger brother of Tadeusz Styka. He received artistic education at the École Nationale des Beaux Arts in Paris in the years 1908-1912. In 1911 he debuted at the Parisian Salon with the painting "The Orientalist". The greatest impact on the work of the painter had journeys to Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt. In his compositions, he was able to show the landscape and culture of North Africa, paying special attention to the effects of light. He exhibited both nationally and internationally and his works were eagerly purchased. Towards the end of his life, he enjoyed painting religious pictures.
