Jadwiga Janowska is a Polish artist photographer who lives and works in Silesia. She took her first steps in photography in the Gliwice-based photographic group Aczkolwiek. She graduated from the Institute of Creative Photography in Opava, where she defended her MA thesis. The artist is the winner of the main prize in the Young Poland category at the Grand Press Photo competition for photojournalism (2018) and the winner of the Jan Sawka prize at the Fama festival (2021). Janowska's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Rybnik Festival of Photography, in K Mag Art Spot, in Picture Doc, in exhibitions and publications Debuts, Eastreet, #SHOWMEYOURUFO at the Noorderlicht Photofestival; in magazines: Contemporary Lynx , K Mag, The Lavender, Ultramaryna; zines: Freedom, Acid Acid and others. Her work has also been exhibited in solo exhibitions - NN433 at Na6 Gallery and Heroes of the Nation at Poligon Gallery.
