Jerzy Tchórzewski was a Polish painter, graphic designer, and poet. During the II World War he was a member of the Home Army. Between 1946 and 1951 he studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, being associated with a student artistic organization – the Cracow Group II. He participated in the First Exhibition of Modern Art in Cracow. Initially his painting style was surrealistic, with time gaining features of abstract expressionism. In the 1950s he was a pedagogue at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1984 he was awarded with the Jan Cybis Award.
