Tadeusz Styka was a Polish portrait painter, son of the painter Jan Styka, brother of Adam Styka. His first teacher was his father, later he studied in Paris with Eugene Carriere and Jean-Jacques Henner. His most famous works include "Portrait of Leo Tolstoy", "Portrait of Pola Negri", "Portrait of Ignacy Jan Paderewski". During his career he exhibited a lot, at salons in Paris, London, New York, Chicago, Canada and Poland. Together with his father he made sketches for an unrealised panorama: , "The Battle of Grunwald". He received the French Legion of Honour.
