Tamara Berdowska is a Polish visual artist. She studied in 1985-1990 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under Prof. Janina Kraupe-Swiderska, earning a diploma with distinction. In the period 1988-2019, she participated in more than 100 group exhibitions and organized 22 individual exhibitions. Since 2000, she has participated in symposia organized by Bożena Kowalska, bringing together artists working in the trend of geometry, which were held in Chelm, Orońsko and later in Radziejowice. Berdowska is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including those from the Ministry of Culture and Art, the Emilly Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, the Pollock-Krasner Foundation in New York, and a Creative Scholarship from the Mayor of Bielsko-Biala. She has also won, among others, the Prof. Janina Kraupe-Świderska Award, the Grand Prix "Art of Two Times" at the National Museum in Gdansk, Egeria 2000 and the Mayor's Award at the Ostrów Wielkopolski Museum, as well as the Witold Wojtkiewicz Award in Cracow. Her works are in the collections of the National Museum in Szczecin, the Museum in Bochum, the Studio Gallery in Warsaw, the Historical Museum of the City of Cracow, the Archdiocese Museum in Katowice, the District Museum in Chelm, the District Museum in Radom, Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, Historical Museum in Bielsko-Biała, Mondriaanhuis in Amersfoort, Mazovian Contemporary Art Center "Elektrownia" in Radom, Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Museum Kulturspeicher Würzburg Sammlung Peter C. Ruppert, as well as in numerous private collections at home and abroad.
