A sugar bowl was made in the Warsaw workshop of Ludwik Nast I of sterling silver in 1850. The octagonal box with sharply cut corners and an arched lid, and the sides are edged with decorative fretwork. The legs with palmetto motif, and on the lid, there is a full figurine of a lying lion. On the underside, one can see the Warsaw hallmark for 12ct silver, the goldsmith's workshop mark in the form of the Nast surname in italics, as well as the "Z 1851" (Stock 1851) hallmark, indicating products made up to 1850, sold in 1851 after the introduction of the new metallurgical system with the newly introduced, invasive hallmark "84". Sugar bowl dimensions: height 11 cm, width 16 x 11 cm, weight 653 grams. Very good condition, deliberately preserved natural patina of time.
