Hugo Boss AG is a German clothing and perfume company based in Metzingen, founded in 1924 by Hugo Ferdinand Boss (1885-1948). In 1931, Boss was commissioned to design uniforms for the SS (Nazi formation) and Hitlerjugend. In the post-war years, the brand turned to the production of suits, and the company's past was forgotten. In the early 1990s, the company contributed one million dollars to a fund for victims of World War II. Since 1998, Boss has also produced women's fashion.
