Agata Tkaczyk graduated from the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Nałęczów (2001-2006) and studied at the University of Arts in Poznań at the Faculty of Painting (2006-2011). She currently lives in the Netherlands, where she works as an easel painter. She develops a rich, fairy-tale world and records her visions, drawing inspiration from the world around her, paintings by old masters or old photographs, creating mainly portraits of women. The themes she takes on are universal, speaking of the human being. They are love, beauty and the fragility of life. Recently, the artist has been finding inspiration in mythology and fairies, exploring these themes in a variety of ways. She reinterprets mythological figures, giving them modern features or placing them in contemporary contexts. She uses mythological symbolism to explore deeper meanings and emotions.
