A collector's sugar bowl made in Ludwik Nast's goldsmith's workshop in Warsaw from sterling silver in 1874. The sugar bowl in the form of a casket, rectangular in plan, standing on four legs stylized as plant twigs. The walls in the lower part are strongly bulged and decorated with plant motifs, the lid is slightly arched with a decorative plaque. On the front in the form of a shield an empty cartouche ideal for a monogram or engraving. At the bottom, there is the goldsmith's workshop mark - a stylized snake swallowing its own tail, the hallmark 84 with the date 1874 and the goldsmith's name mark L.Nast. Additionally, the hallmark for "2" silver (875) with the letter "V" for the city of Vilnius from the 1930s. The sugar bowl is very big; height 10 cm, width 17 x 13,5 cm, weight 540 grams. Very good condition, natural patina of time preserved, normal signs of use.
