Magdalena Abakanowicz
A richly illustrated album presenting the work of one of Poland's most distinguished artists, Magdalena Abakanowicz (1930–2017), considered one of the most important creators of the 20th century.
She gained recognition and acclaim for her textiles, particularly her abakans, monumental, three-dimensional tapestries characterized by a relief texture, for which she received the Grand Prix at the São Paulo International Art Biennial in 1965. Her sculptures were created using a variety of techniques and materials—from sisal to bronze to stone. Abakanowicz also created numerous sculptural projects located in public spaces around the world, including Jerusalem, Chicago, and Hiroshima.
The album showcases the artist's best works.
