A flat in a townhouse on Royal Crescent in Bath, UK, has been put up for sale for about $1.3 million. Fans of the record-breaking Netflix series "Bridgerton" may recognize the property, which was home to the Featherington family in the first and second seasons of the production.
The production is based on novels by Julia Quinn, in each of which we can read about the love story of one of the Bridgerton siblings. The action takes place in London in the first half of the 19th century. The viewer can take part in an endless cycle of balls, and afternoon tea, during which the most important problem of the characters is the question of marriage. The creators of the series show beautiful costumes, but also the glamorous and sometimes painful lives of members of London's upper classes. The series won one Emmy Award in 2021 for "Best Hairstyles Suited to the Time and/or Character". In the episodes, an attentive viewer will hear songs by Nirvana, Madonna or Rihanna. Critics accuse the creators of side lining issues of colonialism or racism, or of failing to keep to the historical truth.
The flat for sale is housed in one of the 30 crescent terraced houses, known as 'The Royal Crescent' and built-in Bath between 1767 and 1774. The flats overlook the park opposite. The flat itself has over 125 square metres of floor space and retains high ornate ceilings, original chandeliers and fireplaces. The flat also includes a grand hall, living room and a sizable kitchen with modern appliances.
The agent selling the property told the media: "The world-famous Royal Crescent is an incredible piece of Bath's architectural history and the most prestigious address in the city. The flat is attracting a lot of interest from potential buyers from all over the world. Interestingly the internet has been flooded with articles about properties straight out of the Bridgerton TV series.
