Salvador Dalí was a Spanish painter, and one of the best-known Surrealists. In his work, the artist combined his fascination with avant-garde currents with the traditions of Spanish painting. Dali's talent, eccentric lifestyle and manner of dress, as well as his belief in his own genius, quickly earned him international celebrity status. His most famous works include: "The Flaming Giraffe", "The Persistence of Memory" and "Christ of St. John of the Cross". He made film history as co-writer of 'The Andalusian Dog'.
