Dariusz Miliński – A Fairytale World of Fantasy

The catalog opens with two works by Dariusz Miliński, a Polish painter and set designer: "The Musicians of Pławna" (item 1) and "The Lie Detector" (item 2). His works, full of fairytale stylistics and quasi-realistic portraits, often set in idyllic rural landscapes, capture the eye and stir the imagination. Miliński masterfully creates an atmosphere reminiscent of the works of Bosch or Bruegel, immersing viewers in a world full of colors, emotions, and fantastic stories.

Magic and Surrealism – Salvador Dalí

The catalog also features three lithographs by Salvador Dalí, the pioneer of surrealism. "Pegasus" from the Dalinean Horses series and "Don Quixote Chevalier Spinning Man" showcase the artist's mastery in blending surreal imagination with classical symbols. "Pegasus" seeks to convey ideas of freedom and spiritual transcendence, while "Don Quixote Chevalier Spinning Man" interprets the character of Don Quixote in his battle against impossible forces. Additionally, Dalí’s "The Invisible Man" is available in the catalog, one of his most famous lithographs, based on a painting he created in 1929. This surreal composition is a great example of the artist’s fascination with the subconscious, dreams, and optical illusions.

Tomasz Sętowski and Rafał Olbiński – Cosmic Visions and Symbolism

Another artist who has enriched our offering is Tomasz Sętowski. His "Constellatio" (item 73) and "Uni II" (item 76) explore surreal visions of the cosmos, featuring architectural and fantastical elements. The auction also includes a work by Rafał Olbiński, "The Shape of Color Blue" (item 39), full of symbolism and cultural references, making it another valuable addition to this collection.

(Un)real Realism – Van der Schvank

Later in the collection, we draw attention to the works of Van der Schvank, an artist specializing in realism. His body of work covers a wide range of subjects, from landscapes and still lifes to maritime art and nudes. The catalog includes, among others, the painting "Woman with a Horse – Arissa" (item 16), a portrait of a beautiful woman captured in a magical, slightly erotic, and fantastical composition, as well as the metaphysical piece "For the Kingdom, Power and Glory Are Mine Forever…" (item 53), which intriguingly combines realism with spiritual reflection.

Pulsating Color – Sławomir Cwalina

Our auction is filled with vibrant colors, with particularly intense hues emanating from the works of Sławomir Cwalina. His "Butterfly Effect" (P16_16-02) from 2016 (item 3) is the calmest of his offerings. In contrast, his pieces "Curiosity" (P-19_18-01) from 2018 (item 55) and "PerMusion" (P-04_10-01) (item 54) are full of expression, creating dynamic and dramatic images. Another unique entry is Stanisław "Czerkiz" Jaworek’s "Demeter" (item 64), a multi-layered story that deeply moves its audience with its narrative. Color can also underscore tranquility, as seen in two paintings by Andrzej Cybura: "Wait" (item 40) and "Faroe Islands" (item 41). In his works, the artist blends imaginary elements with reality to best capture the subject of humanity and its accompanying emotions.

Sculptures – The Spatial Representation of the Human Body

The auction also features fascinating sculptures that showcase artistic diversity. The works of Roland Kościółek, created using a glazing technique, depict the female form in various interpretations. "Lady Twin" combines delicacy and sensuality, "Lady Sky" enchants with its ethereality, and "Last Unicorn" draws viewers into a mystical fairy-tale world. Additionally, Wiktoria Zarębska’s sculpture "The Shamaness," full of power and symbolism, is crafted using the same glazing technique but in intense shades of blue.

The auction "Magical Art. Beyond Reality" runs until October 23, 2024, at 8:00 PM. We hope that among the presented works, you will find something to enrich your collection and inspire you. We warmly invite you to participate in the bidding!
