Konstanty Shevchenko "The fisherman with a seine", oil / cardboard, 1930s. The work depicts a fisherman at dawn in a beautiful pastel color scheme. Picture with dimensions of 39.5 x 29 cm, in the frame light 31 x 20.5 cm. Very good condition, no signs of tampering or conservation, original wooden frame with two barely visible defects. Konstantin Shevchenko (1910-1991). He began his artistic education at the Institute of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1927-1928). Then he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Felicjan Kowarski and Tadeusz Pruszkowski (1928-32). He mainly painted easel paintings - oriental genre scenes, portraits and images of fishermen. He also dealt with stage design: in 1934-35 he collaborated with the Variety Theater. He collaborated with the publishing house "Atlas" in Lviv, and also published illustrations in "Kurier Poranny". He is the author of portraits of Ignacy Mościcki and Edward Rydz-Śmigły. He exhibited in Poland (1938, Polish Regional Types, Salon Sztuki, Warsaw; 1947, Exhibition of the Independent Artists Group) and abroad (individual exhibition at the G. Tomalski Gallery in New York, 1964). His works are in the collection of the Polish Army Museum.
