"Birch, which I planted with my father" was created as a part of a research project on the concept of enchantment titled “Light," and was carried out in the artist's hometown of Pasym, in Masuria, Poland. The series was created between 2020-21 on a grant awarded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. Exhibitions of the series were held in two major Polish cities – Wroclaw and Warsaw. The works were created with a great attention to detail and care for proper painting technology. Every piece of the series is painted on a hand-crafted canvas made from thoroughly selected linen fabric (400 g/sqm). The canvas is covered with special gelatine prior to application of the primer to prevent the picture from rot. The semi-greasy primer that is used for this series is created by the artist herself, based on a two hundred years old recipe, and is applied to the canvas at 60 °C /140°F. All of these steps, along with the usage of professional oil paints (Hardings & Rembrandts) ensure the quality and longevity of the piece.
