Artistic graphics can be a great addition to our interior design. Before choosing a particular piece of artwork, it is helpful to know the basic graphic techniques and their history. Once selected, it is important to consider the display and security of our artwork. You can find information about basic printmaking techniques in our glossary, in this article, we will discuss safety issues and suggest three great pieces from Artbidy's offer.

Artbidy's extensive range of printmaking

Artbidy's gallery offerings feature a wide range of works in the printmaking department. The works vary in size, technique and themes. This overview will offer three pieces made in different techniques: lithography, etching/aquatint and xerography. The first of these is xerography by Stefan Papp ''Untitled'' from 1996. The second is a work by Valeria Cholovska under the title 'Biological weapons. Ukraine 2022'' from that year, made in etching/ aquatint technique. The third is a colour lithograph by Aleksander Łęski ''Tree'', from 1999. We encourage you to take a look at the visuals below the article.

Our advice

One of the most important choices when planning the exhibition of our prints is the frame. Some artists and auction houses sell works that are already framed; if this is not the case, it is worth commissioning a specialist to do the job. It is cost-effective to invest in UV-resistant glass, ensuring our artwork is safe for years to come.

In addition, it is important to remember not to place lamps with the old type of bulbs (these are the ones that produce quite a lot of heat) too close to art graphics and to keep them away from direct heat sources.

In addition, when buying some prints, it is worth paying attention to the number in the series. This applies to more ephemeral printing techniques, such as aquatint and etching, for example, where repeated printing from the same master can result in a deterioration of the quality of the print. The higher the number, the better the chance of a better-quality print.
