Wojciech Fangor's "M39" sold for more than 4 million zlotys. The painting was created for an exhibition at the Gugenheim Museum, where the artist presented his works. Fangor created few works with a rosette motif.

4 million for a Fangor painting

4 million 720 thousand zlotys. This is how much was paid at Friday's Desa Unicum auction for a 1969 canvas by Wojciech Fangor. Another interesting work is the painting Detail 2890944 - 2910059 (sold for PLN 2 million 590 thousand) by Marian Opałka, who used numbers in many of his works. He used them in his famous series from 1956 to 2011. To date, this painter has been the most highly valued on the Polish auction market. In Desa, it is extremely rare for sums above one million to fall. It seems that contemporary art is therefore increasingly at a premium.
