Eliasz Kanarek was a Polish painter of Jewish origin, a member of the Brotherhood of St. Luke. He studied at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Professor Tadeusz Pruszkowski. He created portraits of women and children, genre scenes, still lifes and landscapes. He took part in painting seven historical pictures intended for the hall of honour of the Polish pavilion at the World Exhibition in New York (1939). After the outbreak of war, he remained in the USA, where he continued to create.
