Joanna Ostaszewska is an artist from Szczecin. The artist is involved in music, poetry, painting, and the creation of ceramics. After graduating from the violin class at the Katowice Academy of Music, she began working in the Symphony Orchestra of the Szczecin Philharmonic. At the same time, she runs her own art studio. Joanna Ostaszewska's paintings can be found in private collections at home and abroad, the artist has collaborated with auction houses, and her poetic debut - a volume of illustrated poems dedicated to the Inner Child - is soon to be published. In her work, Ostaszewska seeks ways of emotional release - for herself and for the viewer. The interdisciplinary nature of her artistic path means that she repeatedly finds herself at the meeting point of various art disciplines - her poems go hand in hand with illustrations, while her paintings often receive poetic commentary, and her ceramics bear the hallmarks of painting, while in music she seeks colour and narrative. The interpenetration of these disciplines gives Ostaszewska an interesting optic - year by year she sees more and more clearly that art is literally everywhere.
One of Joanna Ostaszewska's favourite painting subjects is music and the experience of being a musician. She tries to transfer onto canvas the very fleeting feeling she sometimes experiences on stage - of being transported into another dimension, out of time, where sound has its own colour and melodies tell stories without words. The musicians in the artist's paintings are in a setting quite different from concert halls, among fairy-tale trees, bathed in intense colour, in the light of the setting sun or in the company of birds.
