Łukasz Trusewicz is a graduate of the University of Arts in Poznań. He combines his sculptural practice with the potential for ephemerality that comes from the experience of performance art. Currently, he is creating sculptures out of wood that engage viewers to look at issues related to ecology and urban biodiversity. He is interested in the role of the collective and the viewer in the process of shaping an artistic action and object, the viewers in his works often becoming co-creators of the work. He also creates large-format wooden objects that are placed in outdoor spaces such as squares and parks and serve as shelters for birds and small animals. He is the author of projects created with the involvement of local communities - wood sculptures, objects, performative installations and urban interventions. Lukasz Trusewicz has also carried out educational and animation activities in collaboration with the Pireus Culture Incubator and the Lazarus Workshop. He has been running his own Wood Sculpture Workshops for 12 years. He is the creator of cultural and social projects, the originator of the Open Culture Zone initiative, and co-founder of the Pireus Culture Incubator. The artistic projects he creates often become the seeds of social change, community building, place identity and integration.
