Magdalena Gross was a Polish sculptor of Jewish origin. She received her artistic education at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts and with Francesco Simi in Florence. She was a specialist in chamber portrait and animalistic sculpture, and also dealt with artistic craftsmanship. During World War II, she hid in the Warsaw Zoo, among others, the story was presented in the American film Asylum from 2017. Most of her works were lost during the war.
