Matthew Wong was a Canadian painter of Chinese descent. He received a master's degree in photography from City University in Hong Kong in 2013. Soon after graduating, he took up painting and drawing and taught himself. He created melancholic landscapes and still lifes. He committed suicide at the age of just 35.
