Teofil Ociepka was a Polish self-taught painter, primitivist and theosophist. In post-war Poland, he was promoted as a Polish Rousseau's Cellist. In his works the viewer will notice references to fairy tales, legends and the life of miners. He was a co-founder of the Janowska Group, about which the film Angelus, directed by Lech Majewski, was made.
