Władysław Jackiewicz was a Polish painter, educator and rector of the State Higher School of Visual Arts in Gdańsk. He studied at the Faculty of Painting at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Sopot. He received his diploma in 1952, in the atelier of Professor Artur Nacht-Samborski. In his work, he creates figurative paintings in which the torso of the figure itself is visible. He painted brightened, synthetic silhouettes, using the effect of the colour ground shining through a thin layer of glazing.
