Zdzisław Czermański was a Polish graphic artist-caricaturist. He studied drawing under Kazimierz Sichulski in Lviv. During World War I he was a legionnaire, after the war he was promoted to the rank of captain. His caricatures could be found in many magazines: in Lviv "Szczutek", in "Cyrulik Warszawski" and "Wiadomości Literackie", in Paris "L'Illustration", in London "The Graphic", in the American "Fortune Magazine", and after the war also in "Look", "Life". He portrayed, among others: Witkacy, Karol Stryjeński, Jan Paderewski and Józef Piłsudski. At the latter's order 13 works by Czermański were hung in the Belweder Palace in Warsaw. He lived and worked in France, Great Britain and the USA. He died in New York.
