Wonderful, multifaceted scene depicted by the artist in a sumptuous interior of a palace. The central part of the composition shows the father of the family officially introducing his wife to a candidate for a husband, one of his daughters, who is impatiently waiting for the official presentation behind her mother's back. The scene is full of expression, great emotions written on the faces of each participant taking part in this solemn family event. Careful attention to every detail of the palace interior, details recreated with great reverence, the richness of fabrics, structures and costumes show us the great artistry of the artist. The painting underwent conservation many years back, the canvas was doubled, the state of preservation is excellent. The painting in a beautiful, wooden, originally gilded frame (the frame with a few traces of minor repairs, small cracks). The painting is large, measuring 72 x 93 cm, the work itself (canvas) measuring 49 x 73 cm. At one of the last auctions on 15.03.2022 a comparable scene in the interior (smaller than the offered one) was sold for 96,000 zloty (with auction fee).
