A set of four salt/spice dishes made of sterling silver 800 in the goldsmiths Bruckmann & Sohne of Heilbronn around 1890, commissioned by the Lazarus Posen salesrooms operating in Frankfurt and Berlin. Saltires made in the classicist style with full-length goat heads. The interiors originally gilded with glass inserts preserved in excellent condition. Included with the saltpans are four spoons with gilded scoops. Each salt cellar measuring 4 x 6 cm, the silver with a deliberately preserved natural patina of time. The silver bears the 800th silver hallmark used in Germany at the end of the 19th century and the goldsmith's workshop mark in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings. The set in the original Posen saloon case. The condition of the silver is excellent, the case inside with minor rubbing of the fabric, with soiling characteristic of the passage of time.
