ORIVIT, a manufactory founded in 1894 in Cologne by Wilhelm Schmitz. From 1896 it produced luxury products. In 1900, the company won a gold medal at the World Exhibition in Düsseldorf, and in 1902 at the Industrial Design Exhibition. Poorly managed, the company suffered a financial collapse in 1905. In 1905, the company was bought out by the powerful WMF, which produced products under the name ORIVIT until 1914.
