These headlines might surprise us – what could a museum dedicated to such an iconic TV series look like, especially in a city unrelated to its plot? And yet.

Thirteen Containers of Artefacts

Marek Żydowicz, an art historian, director of the Camerimage festival and founder of the Tumult Foundation, is in charge of this project. His long-standing friendship with David Lynch has resulted in an idea to commemorate Twin Peaks precisely in Toruń, where Żydowicz's Foundation is based.

Museums dedicated to single series are rare. Usually such exhibitions are part of larger institutions or take the form of pop-ups. However, Żydowicz has an impressive collection – as many as thirteen containers full of artefacts related to Twin Peaks, which he received directly from Lynch. The concept for the museum was to be created in collaboration with the director, which gives the project an authentic feel.

David Lynch – Director/Artist

We know Lynch primarily from the screen, although as it turns out, exhibitions were not at all alien to him. His work in the visual arts has been exhibited in galleries around the world. In 2007, the Fondation Cartier pour l'art in Paris organised an exhibition of his photography and paintings, and in 2022, the Pace Gallery featured his sculptures, works on paper and paintings.
