"Blind men", oil on canvas - painting by Jan Sumiga (1944-2005), one of the representatives of the Polish trend of magic realism. The painting measures 36.5 x 36.5 cm, the work itself in the clear frame measures 33.5 x 33.5 cm. In the bottom right corner there is the artist's handwritten signature. Excellent condition. Jan Sumiga: painted mainly works in the form of portraits maintained in desert, fantastic sceneries. The figures on his canvases are often concrete characters, but sometimes their silhouettes and faces are deformed and become partly abstract. Sumiga's works are maintained in a mysterious atmosphere. The artist studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts from 1968 to 1974 at the Faculty of Graphic Design. His first individual painting exhibition abroad took place in Depolma Galerie in Dusseldorf in 1979. Jan Sumiga's works were exhibited in Warsaw (BWA 1979, "Art" Gallery 1980, "Koszykowa" Gallery 1981, "Znak" Gallery 1989, New York (Marie Pellicone Gallery 1982).
