Eugeniusz Ochonko (born 1964)
Eugeniusz Ochonko graduated in 1996. The Faculty of Painting and Graphics at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. Based on a precise technique, modeled on the drawings of old masters, he continues to mix the real world with phantasmagoria in a very consistent manner. In his paintings, through an intriguing play of lines building space, creating mirrors, in which, like in Marquez's novel, the real world evokes this hidden, magical one. He has exhibited his works at many national and international exhibitions, incl. on such significant as: "ART. GENDA 96" in Copenhagen, Denmark; "Presentation of Polish Art", in Parliament in Bremem, in Germany, and many in Spain. In 2007. received the award of the President of the City of Gdańsk for outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art. Since 2008, he lives and works in Spain. His works are in many private collections around the world, incl. with Queen Sofia of Spain and Prince Alberto II of Monaco.
