A magnificent confectioner's sugar bowl made of top quality 950 silver in the Paris workshop of Jean Granvigne circa 1900. The sugar bowl in neo-Rococo style, supported on four profiled legs, decorated with motifs of frothy sea waves, ear motifs, flowers. Included with the sugar bowl is a sugar spoon perfectly matching the cut-out in the lid. The interior of the sugar bowl originally gilded. Thick-walled silver, the sugar bowl is heavy, very stable on the table with ideal proportions; height 13 cm, width 20 cm, weight 530 grams. There is a test mark on the lid and on the base, as well as the goldsmith's workshop mark in the form of the goldsmith's monogram J.G inscribed in a rhombus with the symbol of a vine.
