A museum-quality box-shaped sugar bowl with chamfered corners, made in the best goldsmith's workshop in Warsaw of that time - the workshop of Karol Filip Malcz - around 1840, from sterling silver. It is supported on four legs in the form of winged lion's paws. The lid is decorated with an unusual plaque depicting a park genre scene with Putta playing instruments. The whole sugar bowl all round surrounded by an ornamental frieze. The plaques of very good craftsmanship. The sugar bowl has the original working lock and original working key. On the underside there is a goldsmith's workshop mark - in italics the name Malcz in Warsaw with the anchor mark, and the hallmark for silver 12 ounces. The sugar bowl measures: height of 9 cm, the width of 15.5 cm, depth of 12 cm, and weight 656 grams. Excellent state of preservation, no signs of damage, repairs, natural patina of time preserved, the lid closes tightly.
