Karol Filip Malcz was a Warsaw goldsmith. His father Konstanty came to Poland from Lommatzsch in Saxony in 1794. Karol learned the trade at the goldsmith's workshop of Jan Maciej Schwartz. Then, from 1818, for ten years he traveled as a journeyman around Europe. In 1827 he became goldsmith and a year later he started his own business. In 1864 he handed over the company to Teodor Werner, who was his wife's nephew. Malcz products are signed with an anchor in an oval. The offer of the factory included both sacred and utility products. The company also accepted special, personalized orders.
