Today marks 44 years since one of the greatest artists of the 20th century, Pablo Picasso, is not with us. And what is happening in Poland in the meantime?
In the very centre of Warsaw, on the famous "frying pan", we can see a mural by Aleksandra Waliszewska depicting Warsaw mermaids - including one modelled on a sketch by Pablo Picasso made during his stay in Warsaw in 1948.
Selected works by the aforementioned master can also be seen at the exhibition “The Beguiling Siren is Thy Crest”, which will be open until 18 June in the new temporary building of the Museum of Modern Art by the Vistula river.
