Andrzej Kenda is a Polish artist, merchant and collector of Polish art. He has lived and worked in New York since 1981. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, studied painting under Prof. Jerzy Nowosielski and printmaking under Prof. Włodzimierz Kunz. His work is characterized by minimalism and geometric elements. Kenda took part in the 3rd International Biennale of Printmaking in Cracow (1970), 12th International Salon Paris-Sud, "Polish Printmakers' 72" in Melbourne (1972), exhibition in "Arsenal Gallery" in New York (1986). Individual exhibitions were organized, among others, in "Galerie am Grillhof" in Austria (1978), "Margot Gallery" in NY (1983). His works are held in Museum of Contemporary Art in Osaka (Japan) and in private collections in USA, Canada, France, Germany and other countries. The artist is one of the founders of the Polish American Artist Society (PAAS), in 1986 he became the first president of this organization. He was also Artistic Director of PAAS Gallery in New York (1986-1997); he organized over 130 group exhibitions and several individual ones. Since 1970, he has been a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers. His collection of Polish art comprises over 70 paintings, among which there are mainly works from the 1960s and 1970s.
