Beata Filipowicz is an artist who currently lives in Wrocław and works mainly in the fields of graphic art, painting and illustration, while experimenting with found objects and products from everyday life and elements of pop culture. She uses mixed media in her new works, extending her graphic design projects into performance. Filipowicz is a graduate of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, where she pursued a degree in the Intaglio Studio and the Illustration Studio, for which she received the 1st Prize of the Marshal of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship for the Best Diploma of the Year 2017 (BWA Awangarda, Wrocław). She held the position of assistant and lab technician in the Department of Artistic Graphics at her alma mater until September 2022. The artist is the recipient of an Artist Residency at the Grafikwerkstatt (Dresden Residents, Alte Fauerwache Gallery, Loschwitz - Dresden, Germany, 2020) and the Adam Mickiewicz Institute (Polish Culture in the World, 2017). Also, she is a finalist of the 14th edition of Hestia's Artistic Journey (Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw, 2015).
