Beata Warda is a Polish artist. Between 2012 and 2018, she studied Design at the Technical University of Lodz. She defended her Master of Arts degree in 2018 under the guidance of Dr Aurelia Mandziuk-Zajączkowska and Dr Maria Cybulska at the Institute of Textile Architecture of the Technical University of Lodz. During her studies, she became involved in creative activities with a particular focus on jacquard fabric made with special weaving machines. Then, she started to create her own unique textiles. She participated in numerous exhibitions and plein-air events devoted to fibre art. By subjecting the finished fabric to heat treatment, she began working on organic spatial forms. She believes that structure is the quintessence of artistic textiles. I pay special attention to the combination of the senses of touch and sight in my work. Today, I am inspired by the petri dish when creating works. An object that is present in every laboratory. By deconstructing the fabric, she tries to reflect the effect of the culture of micro-organisms created in the dish. The objects she makes are both an experiment and a test.
