Bolesław Biegas was a Polish painter, sculptor and playwright. In the years 1896-1901, he studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow under the supervision of A. Daun and K. Laszczka. He received a scholarship from the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw and went to Paris, where he settled permanently. His sculptures were maintained in the allegorical-symbolic current, in form they show fluidity of shapes and Art Nouveau immateriality. He was a very individual artist, nowadays his works are reaching increasingly high prices on the antiquarian market.
