Daria Kardaś, born in 1993, holds a master’s degree in painting from the Faculty of Arts at the Pedagogical University. Currently residing and creating in Gdańsk, she explores themes of mystery, unease, and primal emotions in her work. Her art immerses the viewer in a world of untold stories, delving into motifs of loneliness, intangible threats, and a dark, primal force lurking in the background.
Kardas' creative journey has evolved under the influence of personal experiences, including motherhood, which prompted deeper introspection and a confrontation with her own fears. Her current focus lies in depicting fear in its many forms, presenting it as a constant, invisible companion throughout human history. Her works convey an atmosphere of claustrophobia, a sense of freedom under threat, and childhood-rooted fears, symbolized by the figure of a massive dog. This artistic exploration is ongoing, with new pieces in her studio revealing further facets of fear and the human psyche.
