Dawid Tatarkiewicz is a Polish creator of photographic images. After defending his doctorate, he taught biological subjects at universities in Poznan, simultaneously taking photographs. He started as a teenager with nature photography. This was a great school for appreciating the importance of each exposed frame of film, a school he attended while still in the analogue era.
During his studies, he reactivated and managed the work of the Nature Photography Section of the Scientific Circle of Naturalists at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Gradually, he expanded the subject matter of the works he created. He was a co-founder of the OD.DO Creative Group and co-owner of the ODONATA photographic company - he took photographs for respectable institutions and people. Later on, he started cooperating with press photo agencies in Poland and the United States, to which he delivered his selected works.
Eventually, it was photography that he devoted all his professional time and energy to. Winner of photographic competitions. Participant of group exhibitions and author of individual exhibitions. Scholarship holder in the field of photography: Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region, Fund for the Promotion of Creative Activity ZAiKS. Winner of the Creative Scholarship of the City of Poznań.
He photographs mainly nature (in a contemplative approach) and visual wonders fished out of everyday life. He takes portraits - not only of people, also of cities. For several years now, he has been running his blog dawidtatarkiewiczfoto.blogspot.com, where selected works can be viewed. However, he tries not to make his most important photographs available on the Internet. Only a few of them can be viewed digitally and almost exclusively at Artbidy.
