Erno Erb was a Polish painter who lived and worked all his life in Lviv and for some time in Truskawiec. He mostly painted oil paintings in impasto technique. The favourite themes of his compositions were genre scenes from city life: saleswomen selling flowers at the market, Ukrainian peasants, Jews and still life. Thanks to these representations, he gained fame and recognition, becoming in a way an excellent reporter of everyday urban reality. Erb exhibited many times in Towarzystwo Przyjaciół Sztuk Pięknych (Society of Friends of Fine Arts) in Lvov and Cracow, as well as in Warsaw Zachęta Gallery.
