Ewa Bartoszewska is a Polish self-taught painter, philosopher, hypnotherapist and traveler. Apart from painting she writes poetry and prose. Her paintings are visionary, based on the exploration of visions of inner worlds. They are full of symbolism and oneiric. Most of her paintings are characterized by contrasting colors and otherworldly figures, as well as often psychedelic surrealism. The inspiration comes from the world beyond consciousness - dreams, hypnosis, meditation, subconsciousness. Despite the positive overtones of most of her paintings, each contains an undertone of the darker side of the human mind and experience. The painter feels most comfortable among nature and animals, as well as while traveling exploring other cultures.
