Hanna Rudzka was a Polish painter, one of the representatives of colorism. She gained her education at the School of Fine Arts in the studio of Miłosz Kotarbiński and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. There, in the studio of Józef Pankiewicz, she met great artists, including Józef Czapski, Marian Szczyrbuła, Tadeusz Potworowski and Jan Cybis (her future husband). In 1923, together with the above-mentioned, she founded the Paris Committee. From 1924, the so-called Kapists organized their exhibitions in Paris and Geneva. They stayed in the French capital until 1931. In 1945, the artist was nominated to the position of associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and in the years 1960–1962 she was the dean of the Faculty of Painting of that university.
