Jan Stanisławski (b.1860 Olszana - d.1907 Cracow) | 1966

Jan Stanislawski was a Polish painter, an outstanding representative of Impressionism in Polish painting. He started his artistic education under Wojciech Gerson in Warsaw, later he studied in the School of Fine Arts in Cracow and in Paris under Emil Carolus-Duran. In 1897, he became a professor at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow. Most often he painted small-format landscapes, in which he paid special attention to the effects of light or changing weather.
