Jankiel Adler (1895-1949) was a Jewish painter, graphic artist, stage designer and poet of Polish origin. He exhibited his works in many cities: Warsaw, New York, Munich. He was one of the founders of Jung Idysz, an artistic group active in Łódź between 1919 and 1921. This group, like Adler himself, was strongly influenced by expressionism.
