Jean Lambert-Rucki was a Polish avant-garde painter, sculptor and graphic artist. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, then went to Paris. There he studied at the Colarossi Academy and worked as a retoucher in a photographic workshop. His collection of applied art, art déco, was successful at the International Exhibition in Paris in 1925. His best-known works include sculptures inspired by rural folklore (Moon Figure, Storks, Scarecrow).
