Józef Rapacki was a Polish painter, famous for his sentimental landscapes. He began his artistic education in Wojciech Gerson's drawing class in Warsaw, and later studied at the School of Fine Arts in Krakow and at the school in Vienna. In his landscapes the influence of the style of the Munich school can be seen, the landscapes were painted outdoors - usually in oil on canvas technique. In addition, he collaborated with various magazines, including "Tygodnik Ilustrowany", "Wędrowiec" "Świat", "Biesiada Literacka". A considerable collection of the artist's works can be found in the Museum of Western Mazovia in Żyrardów.
