Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk graduated from the J. Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow: in 2002, from the Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art (diploma under Prof. Grażyna Korpal in the Conservation of Wood-Based Easel Paintings Department), and in 2005, from the Painting Department (diploma under Prof. Roman Łaciak). In 2011, she defended her doctoral thesis at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk (supervisor Prof. Andrzej Bednarczyk from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków) - an interdisciplinary work: painting, photography, artistic installation, film. Currently, she works as an assistant professor in the Department of History of Architecture and Conservation of Monuments at the Faculty of Architecture, Cracow University of Technology. She is the author of several scientific publications on art in public space, considered as a timeless tool of communication in the historical urban fabric. She is the author of a scientific review of the book Art and Place: site-specific art of Americas. She participates in academic conferences and exhibitions of artwork nationally and internationally. Her last painting exhibition took place in 2023 at the Tony Halik Travelers' Museum in Toruń as part of the jubilee celebrations marking the 550th anniversary of the birth of Nicolaus Copernicus, organised by the District Museum in Toruń. In recent years, she has realised two major projects: the art project ‘Spacefillres. Art in Public Space' in collaboration with, among others, the ArtBoom Festival, KBF, MOCAK, MOS in Krakow, and a project popularising knowledge about art: “Art through Art” as part of the seminars conducted at the Faculty of Architecture at the Krakow University of Technology. In 2014, she curated a film screening and panel discussion accompanying the exhibition: ‘The City as a Living Work of Art. A metaphor for human fate' realised as part of the project ’Spacefillres. Art in Public Space' project at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow and the Pauza Gallery in the Malopolska Garden of Art. 
Since 2012, she has held the position of curator at the A-1 Gallery in Krakow. She has been recognised several times for her professional activities: in 2015. - she received the badge of honour ‘Meritorious for Polish Culture’, issued by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, Ms Małgorzata Omilanowska; in 2016. - Team Award of the Rector of the Krakow University of Technology for organisational achievements; in 2017 - she received the Individual Award of the Rector of the Krakow University of Technology for scientific achievements. She is constantly developing and improving her professional competences. She paints abstract paintings. The artist is interested in processes of perception, issues related to neuroaesthetics in art) and ways of interpreting meanings and senses in art.
