Lily Renée Phillips was an Austrian illustrator. The artist was born in Vienna, from which she fled from the Nazis to Great Britain in 1939. Two years later she found herself in New York, where she spent several years illustrating for ,,Fiction House", a well-known American comic book publisher. One of her most famous achievements was drawing the character of Señorita Rio (1942-1950), a daring and alluring agent of the American intelligence service.
